As a company, we are committing to the Building Mental Health Framework which underpins the values of our business and supports people in our industry, every day, and throughout their working lives. Building Mental Health is creating a freely available, industry-wide framework and charter to tackle the mental health crisis in the construction industry.
Every working day, two construction workers take their own life. We have to educate everyone in our industry to recognise the signs and symptoms of our colleagues that are suffering from stress, anxiety or depression and start the conversation to assist in their recovery.
Joseph Gallagher have made some great progress this year, including the introduction of Mental Health First Aiders, awareness days on-sites and providing resources that support our workforce and they can access 24/7/365 - available in 16 languages via our Employee Assistance Programme.
