Joseph Gallagher have recently been awarded a contract as part of the Brent Knoll Flood Alleviation Scheme. The project involves the construction of 6 new shafts and 450m of new 600mm gravity sewer. The gravity sewer is being installed using the Iseki Micro Tunnelling Method and runs at depths of between 5-10metres deep. The sewer is required to alleviate flooding in the Lympsham, Brent Knoll and East Brent Areas of Somerset.
JGL started work on the project on the 1st August to complete a critical section running beneath Brent Knoll Primary School during the summer holidays and the rest of the project will run until the end of the year, finished just before the holiday period.
