Grove Park | HDD

We were contracted to undertake six HDD crossings at three locations drilling under Network Rail assets for UKPN and Clancy Dowcra. Each location required two separate bores reamed up to 22inch, with each bore housing nine electric ducts.

An Overview
UKPN and Clancy Docwra are currently upgrading an existing 6km, 132kV cable route between Eltham and Sydenham (London) – We were contracted to undertake six HDD crossings at three locations drilling under Network Rail assets. Each location required two separate bores reamed up to 22inch, with each bore housing nine electric ducts.

Compact site locations and restricted access meant that we had to overcome challenging logistical movements and site conditions by introducing additional pumping equipment, ramps and slip excavations to maintain public access along with complex inter-site movement of the HDD equipment to ensure that the ducts were successfully installed.
