Atlas Road | HDD

We have been contracted by UKPN and Clancy Dowcra to design and construct two HDD crossings from Willesden Grid main substation to the new substation on Atlas Road.

An Overview

UKPN and Clancy Docwra are currently building a new substation and cable route at Atlas Road (London) as part of the High Speed 2 project. We have been contracted to design and construct two HDD crossings from Willesden Grid main substation to the new substation on Atlas Road. Each crossing is 407m long with a final bore diameter of 26inches. Each crossing will navigate under four railway tracks crossing two bridges, adjacent to the Grand Union Canal.

Due to site constraints the electric ducts were welded off site and required to be stored within Grand Union Canal until installation, the ducts were floated and positioned into the canal using barges and cranes.
