Marine and Costal

We deliver specialist marine and coastal infrastructure in some of the most physically and environmentally demanding environments across the UK and internationally. Our focus is on supporting the development, protection and renewal of critical assets within live ports, harbours and exposed coastal locations, where engineering precision, operational awareness and regulatory compliance are essential.

Our experience within live port and harbour environments includes quay walls, berths, cofferdams, dredging support works and associated onshore infrastructure. Working within operational boundaries requires close coordination with port authorities, harbour masters and marine operators to maintain safe navigation, manage tidal constraints and ensure uninterrupted commercial activity. Our teams are experienced in planning works around vessel movements, restricted access windows and complex marine logistics.

We deliver coastal defence and resilience schemes designed to protect communities and assets from erosion, tidal inundation and extreme weather events. Our capability includes seawalls, revetments, fish passes, embankments, groynes and flood protection structures, often constructed within environmentally sensitive coastal zones. These schemes are engineered to balance long-term structural integrity with ecological considerations and regulatory requirements.

We provide specialist expertise in landfall works, nearshore construction and transition structures, forming the critical interface between offshore and onshore infrastructure. These works demand careful integration of geotechnical design, marine operations and environmental management to ensure safe and durable connections. Our involvement in projects such as Dogger Bank Onshore Wind Farm, Aramis, Hinkley Point C and the Emergency Sea Outfall (ESO), Kuwait demonstrates our ability to manage complex marine interfaces and offshore recovery operations in challenging conditions.

Sustainability and innovation underpin our marine delivery. We prioritise low-impact construction techniques, responsible material selection and proactive protection of marine habitats. Social sustainability is equally important, and we engage openly with coastal communities and stakeholders to manage expectations, mitigate disruption and maintain trust throughout delivery.

Technical excellence is reinforced through the use of specialist marine plant, innovative construction methodologies, digital planning tools and rigorous assurance processes that enhance safety, efficiency and programme certainty. Our participation in Early Contractor Involvement for Aquellum exemplified this approach, where we supported the development of a 20-metre-wide drill and blast tunnel designed to enable boat transport from the coast into a commercial marina environment—demonstrating our capability to deliver bold, technically complex marine solutions.

By combining marine engineering expertise, trenchless and underground capability, and disciplined operational planning, we provide a trusted marine and coastal infrastructure capability, supporting resilient development in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
