Rail

From major rail upgrades to new high-speed connections, we work collaboratively with clients and partners across the transport sector to deliver complex infrastructure in live, operational railway environments. Our approach is built on compliance, technical assurance and disciplined delivery, ensuring that safety-critical rail assets are constructed, modified and protected with minimal disruption to ongoing services.

Our rail capability spans enabling works, earthworks, structures, underground construction and complex asset interfaces, often delivered within possession regimes and highly constrained corridors. We understand the operational sensitivities of working adjacent to live tracks, signalling systems, overhead line equipment and buried services, and we plan works meticulously to manage access, sequencing and interface risk.

We operate in full compliance with the requirements of Network Rail, including Railway Group Standards (RGS), the Railway and Other Guided Transport Systems Regulations 2006 (ROGS), and the regulatory oversight of the Office of Rail and Road (ORR). Our teams are experienced in navigating the assurance, approval-in-principle and asset protection processes necessary to secure design acceptance and construction approval within the rail environment.

Technical assurance is embedded throughout delivery. Our works are aligned with relevant British Standards and Eurocodes and supported by structured verification, independent checking and quality control processes. Holding a RISQ Certificate of Excellence, we demonstrate consistent compliance with rail industry safety and supplier qualification requirements, providing confidence that works are executed in accordance with design intent and acceptance criteria.

Our experience includes complex underground and structural interventions such as Eltham Shaft, SAS13 Bridge Replacement, and works associated with HS2 at West Ruislip, where precise planning, robust temporary works and strict asset protection controls were essential. These projects illustrate our ability to deliver safely within operational rail corridors while managing programme constraints, third-party interfaces and high levels of scrutiny.

By combining deep sector knowledge, specialist plant, experienced teams and a rigorous assurance culture, we provide a trusted rail infrastructure capability, delivering safe, compliant and technically robust solutions that protect the railway today while enabling its future development.
