Water and Wastewater

We deliver complex civil and underground infrastructure across the water and wastewater sector, working within operational treatment works, regulated environments and live networks where safety, environmental protection and service continuity are paramount. Sustainability sits at the core of our approach, supporting climate resilience while delivering value across the full asset lifecycle.

Our capability spans catchment-led civil and underground works, supporting abstraction, treatment and distribution of clean water. This includes intake structures, shafts, chambers, buried pipe corridors, service infrastructure and associated enabling works. We understand the importance of maintaining water quality and operational performance throughout construction, particularly where works interface with existing assets and active treatment processes.

Within wastewater systems, our teams bring award-winning experience across sewers, pumping stations, treatment works, tunnels and marine outfalls, often working adjacent to ageing infrastructure and live flows. Our involvement in the Al Hassanain Emergency Sea Outfall (ESO) project in Kuwait, where we jointly received Tunnelling Project of the Year (under $100m), demonstrates our ability to deliver technically demanding marine and tunnelling works within environmentally sensitive conditions.

Regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship underpin all water sector delivery. We operate in accordance with environmental permits, relevant British Standards including BS8680, BS8558 and BS8582, and asset owner specifications. Our approach integrates structured assurance, monitoring and stakeholder engagement to ensure works are compliant, transparent and aligned with public expectations.

In addition to treatment and conveyance infrastructure, we deliver flood defence and climate adaptation works, including embankments, flood walls, culverts and control structures. These schemes are carefully designed and sequenced to manage extreme weather events and changing environmental conditions, protecting communities and ecosystems while enhancing long-term resilience.

Our portfolio includes projects such as the Emergency Sea Outfall (ESO), Kuwait, Beckton Sewage Treatment Works (STW), Guildford Sewage Treatment Works (GSTW), Zinj Trunk Sewer, North Manama Causeway Phase 2 and Busaiteen Link – Sewer Pipeline, and Tangmere, reflecting our ability to deliver across diverse regulatory environments and challenging operational contexts.

By combining trenchless expertise, marine capability, robust environmental management and engineering-led planning, we provide a trusted water and wastewater capability, delivering resilient infrastructure that safeguards public health, protects the environment and supports sustainable growth.
