Marine and Landfall Works

We deliver marine and landfall works for the energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors, specialising in the interface between offshore assets and onshore networks where ground conditions, tidal influences and environmental constraints demand precise engineering and assured delivery. Our capability spans the full range of trenchless and underground methodologies, selected to minimise marine disturbance, protect existing assets and maintain programme certainty.

Our experience includes Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) for long marine crossings and landfalls, where alignment control, drilling fluid management and third-party asset interfaces are critical. HDD is deployed to reduce nearshore and intertidal impacts while maintaining tight tolerances beneath sensitive seabeds, pipelines and coastal infrastructure.

We also deliver Direct Pipe installations for landfalls and long sea outfalls, providing an efficient single-step solution where the product pipe acts as the primary support. This methodology is particularly effective in marine environments, reducing interfaces, handling and installation risk while providing robust control of line and level through variable ground and groundwater conditions.

Our pipejacking and segmentally lined tunnelling capability supports complex landfall arrangements where greater structural capacity, durability or groundwater control is required. These methods are well suited to high-pressure environments, long drives, deep alignments and connections to offshore systems, providing long-term, watertight tunnel solutions for energy and utility infrastructure.

A defining strength of our marine capability is our significant experience in offshore and nearshore recovery operations, including complex retrieval of tunnelling plant and equipment from beneath sea beds. These operations demand detailed planning, bespoke marine lifting solutions and close coordination between marine, tunnelling and construction teams. Our proven ability to manage these interfaces safely and efficiently provides confidence on technically demanding schemes.

Through engineering-led planning, specialist plant, experienced teams and integrated delivery, we provide robust, low-impact marine and landfall solutions that connect offshore and onshore infrastructure reliably, safely and with long-term performance at the forefront.
