Project Overview

Joseph Gallagher Ltd successfully delivered a 62.5‐metre microtunnelling crossing beneath one of the busiest stretches of the M53 near Chester. Working under 24/7 live-traffic motorway conditions, the team executed the works with zero settlement, no disruption to road users, and an exceptional daily advance rate of approximately 22 metres. Despite challenges around land access and operating beneath critical infrastructure, the works were completed safely, efficiently, and within budget - reinforcing JGL’s reputation for delivering complex trenchless projects with precision and reliability.
