We all have a part to play in protecting our planet. We are committed to protecting the environment by making changes now and have set a target to become a carbon zero organisation by 2030.

We have sustainability at the heart of every project and challenge we undertake. Here at JGL we strive to deliver our projects more sustainably and less invasive to the planet’s resources, by working in partnership with our supply chain and clients. We are minimising material use and reducing landfill waste, whilst increasing recycling opportunities across all our projects, trialling new methods, designs, and products with a low to zero carbon footprint and high-recycled content.

We acknowledge that the protection of the environment is essential to the industry, our company, and the projects we undertake. We are dedicated to working in a sustainable and ethical manner. Our commitment and efforts towards becoming greener have been recognised by The Green Organisation who awarded JGL with three prestigious Green Apple Environmental Awards last year. The Gold award was received for Sustainable Development in Carbon Reduction. Two further bronze Apple awards were received for improvement and community benefit.

Quality 2021

The Group’s response to addressing climate change has led to the prioritisation of implementing the environmental strategy and sustainability practices. Targets have been laid out, based on seven key internal areas identified to ensure continued growth and help towards becoming Net Zero by 2030 whilst leaving a positive legacy in the communities where we work.

2021 was the first-year tracking and reducing our carbon footprint through the investment of a new Environmental Management System SMARTwaste (ISO 14001:2015 certified) resulting in 195.5 tCO2e per £1million turnover for scope 1,2&3 emissions.
