Community Investment

Our social purpose is to add value into the communities in which we operate by supporting the community groups and organisations that serve those communities.

We predominantly deliver projects in partnership with our clients and main contractors, in residential locations and many of the projects we work on are often in the heart of neighbourhoods and natural habitats.

It's just as important for us to recognise the importance of having a social conscious and give back to the neighbourhoods we work in. Most often, we are there working for months on end so we need to care about how we engage and communicate with residents from the offset.

Our contributions in the communities we have worked in, have included promoting site job opportunities, recruiting local people looking to start a career in construction, working with clients to visit primary and secondary schools, talk through our works at Parish Council Meetings, community groups etc.

Working with young people from as little as five to young adults in schools or college is something we are passionate about growing. In 2022, we engaged with over 500 pupils and students in partnership with our clients - including HS2 and SCS Railways.

Our partnership with Tunnel Skills has allowed us to develop a unique VR experience that gives students and young people an opportunity to immerse themselves 60 feet down a tunnel and see what various roles are needed in the world of tunnelling. It's a great tool to engage with teens and young adults when talking about careers in tunnelling and how engineering/STEM subjects can help provide rewarding careers in tunnelling.
