To mark the end to of our 40-year celebrations and to support National Tree Week, Joseph Gallagher Limited (JGL) teamed up with Essex Chambers members - Ground Control and Thurrock Adult Community College to plant 40 trees back into the community.

40 trees planted at South Essex Wildlife Hospital

Trees were desperately needed by Orsett based animal hospital, South Essex Wildlife Hospital to improve the habitats of some of the hospital’s rescued animals.

Staff from JGL including founder himself Josie Gallagher, apprentices from Thurrock Adult Community College all donned wellies and spades on Wednesday 30 November to help lend a hand and plant 40 saplings at South Essex Wildlife Hospital.

Ground Control kindly donated the trees and facilitated the event with Hospital Manager and owner Sue Schwar, offering a great insight into the Wildlife Hospital.

I'm very proud and humbled by the success and longevity the company has enjoyed over the last few decades, and in all honesty, it is a testament to the hard work, skill, and expertise of all the men and women the business has employed over the last 40 years. Ending our 40-year celebrations with a community event has been a great privilege. I really look forward to supporting more local organisations in and around Orsett.

JGL also kindly donated a cheque of £250 to the wildlife hospital, to which the hospital were genuinely thankful for.

Sue and the team at South Essex Wildlife Hospital are always looking for volunteers throughout the year who can help spare a few hours here and there – maintaining the grounds, odd DIY jobs, helping with fundraising or coming to help with the animals. If you’d like to lend a hand, please email the team at info@southessexwildlife.org.uk.
