An Overview
JTS were initially invited by the Coal Authority to provide a report to determine the feasibility of installing a mine-water discharge pipe some 500m into the North Sea near Sunderland. A series of exploratory bore-holes were carried out revealing highly fractured limestone with little or no integrity to provide a stable borehole during drilling. After consideration of serveral alteratnative "trenchless methods" HDD drill pipe would be the best method.
